COVID-19

ASTA courses are running as published in our IPC and ESA course calendars. However, there may be additional issues around the UK quarantine for international arrivals from some countries. For customers for whom maintaining the certification is critical from the production pipeline point of view, there is an exemption from the UK quarantine  - please contact us to discuss and arrange supporting documentation. Unfortunately, for arrivals from the red-listed countries, there is no solution at the moment. Travel bans first need to be lifted.

We are in contact with people due to arrive here and will be most flexible if further changes are required.

In order to comply with the government guidance, we undertook the risk assessment, we have enhanced the hygiene procedures and have put in place mitigation measures where people cannot keep 2m apart. The layout of our lab ensures 1m+ distance. Other measures are also in place, like one-way routes through the building, staggered break times and visible markers to assist people to maintain physical distance.

Key workers in the space industry can attend our courses in order that the space sector supply chain and for ESA programmes, in particular, is maintained. In addition to all the standard Covid-safe measures, we ask UK delegates to be tested at home (or at work) before coming for a course and we offer asymptomatic testing for our delegates at the end of the course if needed. International delegates are likely to need PCR tests during their stay and before they travel back to their countries, as the UK government and other governments stipulate. Official government guidelines always take precedence over our own guidelines.

Please contact us by email if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note that we expect to be exceptionally busy in the coming months and so early booking or re-booking is strongly advised.

Extension of ESA Certification Status

Due to exceptional measures against the spread of COVID-19 that continue to hinder international travel, ESA has decided to extend the validity of the certificates ending until 31st August 2021 by a maximum of 6 months in order to allow us and our customers to re-schedule the training sessions. This includes also those certificates already under extension, but the overall cumulative extension period should not be more than 18 months. Please note that extensions are not automatic, there need to be valid reasons for asking for them, at the time of booking (or re-booking) re-certification courses.

The new successful re-certification will only be valid as follows:
a) For extensions of less than 12 months, the new certificate will be valid for a period of two (2) years starting from the original end date of the certificate.
b) For extensions of more than 12 months but less than 18 months, the new certificate will be valid for a period of two (2) years starting from the date of the re-certification.
c) For extensions that exceptionally are more than 18 months, the new certificate will be valid for one (1) year starting from the date of the re-certification.
