IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies is the most widely used standard published by the IPC.

It has an international reputation as the source for end product acceptance criteria for consumer and high reliability printed wiring assemblies.


An industry developed and approved program that includes training, certification and instructional materials based on the IPC-A-610 is available to your company. This certification will demonstrate your commitment to customer requirements and greatly assists any company dedicated to ISO-9000 or other quality assurance initiatives.


This training and certification has immediate recognition, legitimacy and value throughout the electronics industry.


IPC-A-610 application specialist training consists of 9 modules:


Module 1: Introduction, Policies and Procedures
Module 2: Foreword, Applicable documents & Handling
Module 3: Hardware Installation
Module 4: Soldering (inc. high voltage)
Module 5: Terminal connections (also requires Modules 4 & 8)
Module 6: Through-hole technology (inc. jumper wires); (also requires Mod 4 & 8)
Module 7: Surface-mount assemblies (inc. jumper wires); (also requires Mod 4 & 8)
Module 8: Component damage, PCB’s and assemblies
Module 9: Solderless Wire Wrap


Minimum is Modules 1 & 2 plus one other. Maximum is all modules.


Course Duration: 3 Days if all modules are required; otherwise duration varies according to the number of modules required.


A working copy of the IPC-A-610 standard will be made available to each participant. It is strongly recommended that a standard is purchased for each participant to take away for future reference.




The IPC-A-610 Application Specialist course is most suited to quality personnel especially inspectors and quality engineers and managers.


This course is also relevant to anyone responsible for the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies including maintenance technicians, operators, process engineers buyers, sales teams and management.
